Hi everybody,

Here is my situation:

Yesterday, when inserting the key in the drivers door to get in, something inside the lock mechanism was not enabling the key to go in and open the door. So, I opened the trunk lid with the key and was able to get inside to unlock the door. Overnight I left the drivers door unlocked and electrocically locked the other doors. Now, today I opened the unlocked door and the alarm goes off. I now know that yesterday when I locked all 4 doors electrically it triggered the alarm. The S70 only has 1 key unlock entry on the drivers door.

What can I do to start/drive the car as I am stranded now. Any information is appreciated.

Update:

I put some motor oil on the key and was finally able to finesse the key into the lock mechanism fully. The door functions perfectly now, but the key goes in very tight.

Any idea what could have caused this to occur? Is it just a matter of time until the mechanism breaks for good? On a side note, my drivers door interior door handle broke 2 weeks ago too....are there any drivers door experts out there that like Crown Royal?

Update - My drivers door mechanism works great. Also, I replaced the interior door handle on the drivers side along with a new bezel. V V parts dept was amazing in price and next day shipping. I bought the door panel tool and torx, so IM me if help is needed.

Love the DIY's on newer cars...most of the time I just wonder how it all stays put without visible fasteners.
