If anyone is interested in a cheap turbo engine there is one available at Aiport Pick a Part in Lethbridge. Apparently this mid-80's 740 turbo hit a deer. The windshield was smashed and the hood dented so that constituted a total wreck. The guy at pick a part wants $200. The engine and transmission is in good working condition. I think the odometer was at 260K.

If you are interested and need some help getting it out let me know. For a couple of minutes I thought about getting it for my 144 but quickly regained my sanity when I realized it exceeds my capabilities.

At 260k, the engine is done. I've seen them with half the miles and the ring ridge was so bad they needed 2nd overbore. They're really nothing special anyway (having built one, I know).

It's an '85, so its a b230ft. I looked at it the other day, and the engine has a newer harness, but the turbo feels pretty bad.

If anybody's pulling bits off it, the "newer" harness is of interest to me...

I am going again today to look for some 240 seat foam, never pulled a harness is it as simple as unplugging all of the plugs and clipping the zip ties??

Pretty much. Sometimes a bit awkward getting it out from under the intake manifold.

I got it mostly free except for under the mani and ran out of time. I asked at the office on my way out how much for the harness and he said $30-40. If you want it for sure I can go back next week, they're closed Sunday's and Monday's.
