It's been a short weekend, but I've managed to get a few car projects done that I thought I would share. First up - Greg needed his 90+ manifold cracks fixed, so I put the mani in the BBQ and gave it a pre-heat to 400 degrees F after I had ground out the cracks. The I welded it up with Ni rod. That will hold for a while.
The marks on the weld are from my chipping hammer.
Next, I've been trying to get rid of the washer fluid reservoir in the 122 as it just doesn't fit the theme of the car. So I welded up an aluminum tank that holds 1.3 L of fluid and has an external replaceable pump. There's still some wiring and work to do on this project, but it turned out great.
The caps are a stock part available from Summit by the way.
