So I'm on the road with my '67 122s. Driven from Calgary to Penticton with no problems...almost.

The signal light bulb in the instrument panel burnt out, the signals are still working but I'd like to replace the bulb ASAP.

Do I have to remove the whole panel to get at this bulb? I can see where it fits in under the dash but I'm not sure if it can come out that easily (& I don't want to break other things...)

You can just reach in and pull the bulb out and change it...no need to remove anything (as long as your a bit of a gymnast).

It just pulls out? It's so tight in there.

It's probably a twist and pull?

More of a push in, twist and pull...I've done it plenty of times, and I'm no twinkle toes under the dash if you get my meaning. They are simple to service.

Hi - I'm pretty-sure it will just wiggle and pull out, then push back in the same way. Mine do, because I had one which tended to fall out. Same deal as the map-tray light, only smaller, I believe.

As far as technique goes, yeah, it can be a bugger - I would say undo three bolts and pull out your front seat, then get a headlamp, a big pair of needle-nose pliers, and try it. Yeah, I-know, just for the signal-light indicator, but I think you will save yourself a lot of cursing, and possibly even causing more harm than good trying to fight your way in there. I meant to the car, but I know for myself, my neck wouldn't handle doing that anymore! Maybe even have enough patience left to replace the other ones BEFORE they burn-out (not that I thought of that)??

Hey Sacha, if you end up getting it out you may not easily find a replacement. If you can't, I'm pretty sure I've got a couple.

I know! haha!

Dustin, thanks for the offer! I was able to find a similar bulb out here. Crappy tire had nothing, But Lordco had something in the back...it took the guy a long time to find a suitable match. He was all cross referencing this & that & eventually found a bulb that looked right.
I should have written down what that replacement bulb was...

I had some NotSoFunTimes getting the new bulb in...(my fingers are too fat! or something...) but it's all working now.
