I know the OEM/Volvo (elring?) is supposed to be the best, but all worldpac offers at the moment is victor reinz or febi/bilstein. I can't remember what I have on the car right now, but it sucks! It's definitely the cork style. I even put rtv at the corners (which I've never done, or had to do before).

Short of ordering them both, anyone know which might be the better type, if one is better? Can't tell from the tiny pics...

Hmmmm....all I've ever used is the Elring without any problems. I think the one on the YROG's new engine is a Reinz, which I don't think was cork, but I haven't run it yet so no clue. Craig's had some issues with his, so he may be able to comment.

I had a Victor Reinz and it leaked like the cheap piece of crap that it is...they are all paper not cork, but the VR is really hard and not at all compliant so I'm not sure how it would actually seal (as the purpose of a gasket is to negate the surface irregularities). I had to goop on the gasket (step one) and let it seal to the valve cover. Then I had to goop (blue colour matching silicone FTW) the valve cover to the head. That fixed it (until I want to take it off to say...swap that crazy RSI cam and have to take a hammer to the cover).
