OK, gang - newbie question here.

After a short bout of spirited driving on Monday (2 or 3 full-throttle blasts to merge with traffic) I opened the hood of my '87 740T to check the oil and found the dipstick blown out about an inch and a half, with localized "spitters" of oil mist in the immediate area. It would appear I have some sort of overpressure situation in the crankcase, best managed by cleaning out the PCV system, yes?

Are there other possibilities here? Could there be something internally unhappy with the engine?

Thanks for your wisdom,

Dan

These engines shake their dipsticks out. I don't believe they're getting blown out. I tend not to worry about it.
