I'm considering picking up a 142 (not the one on Kijiji currently) to yank the B20 and transmission out of it. Besides the engine and trans, is there anything of value on the car for an Amazon owner? I'm not sure if anything else transfers over or not.

Are there any 142 guys around here? Anyone who would want a shell for next to nothing? I remember the body being pretty bad.

The engine and trans swap to the 122, but pretty much nothing else. Some interior parts do cross over in the earlier years (head rests if they have them) but it's really a different beast. Pull the drive shaft as they do mix and match through to the 240 series.

71 has the 3.13 first, and the smaller layshaft
72-up (73 for sure) has the 3.41 first and larger layshaft.
IIRC, (emphasis) there were no tall first, large shaft m40/41's, nor can you mix and match.

71 has grab style door handles & long stock shifter.
72 has 240 style door handles and short shifter.
