I was woundering if anyone had roof rack rails for a 740 4dr? I have a ski box already and all I need are the rails. Just seeing here first to check or any used ones. I think they need to be the gutter cross bars.
Thanks
Sid

I've got a rack off my 940 that's been sitting out by my dumpster for the last year. the city won't take it apparently and i haven't made it to the dump yet. Obviously if you want it, come get it...

in the alley behind 922B, 4-EH street NW in the heart of sunnyside...

I do believe it just a stock Volvo roof rack...no locks, no keys. Needs to be attached by drilling holes in the roof, not clipping to the rain gutters...

That's correct. Just the rails and all the little roof protector bar thingies. DOES require drilling holes in your roof- the butchers who put it on my car didn't do a very nice job...

Pretty sure it was still there last time I noticed. I may have tossed them around beside the garage, behind the garbage bin if they're not beside the bin.

Are the holes that you put into the roof pretty big? and is it a straight drill? how does your car look now that you took them off?

I'd say it's a 3/8" drill, just straight in from what i could tell. I used IPD's roof rack hole plug kit and it doesn't look too bad. Just that whoever originally drilled the holes didn't do a very good job- they either used a dull bit, so had to push so hard it dented a bit, or they twisted the drill while it was in because a couple of the holes are kinda deformed. It ain't rocket science...

looks like someone dug out the rack from beside the garage, i assume that was you sid? I just noticed as I backed out of the garage this am- did you find anything useful- I didn't notice if the rack was gone, just saw the support rails.

Oh, it wasn't you. I'll take a look and see if the rack part is still there then.
