Which ones, Touring or HD for the front?

Back 25 years ago, I did the full IPD bars and HD all around my 740 sedan
and the handling was great, but the ride was just way too hard (teeth chattering).

As suggested, I put in the HD/Springs to replace the Nivomats rears. This really
improved the tracking, handling and ride. Don't think I even need to consider
rear sways for the 80km/h-120km/h country side roads that I drive in the summer.

Now it is time to do the front. Some have suggested going with Touring rather
than HD.

My thoughts on the Bilstien HD in a 700:

740T wagon, HD front and rear, stock everything else. Ride is acceptable, a lot firmer than stock but okay.

740T wagon, HD front and rear, IPD springs and bars. Ride got really stiff in the front, too crashy.

780, converted HD / Previa rear, HD/IPD front. Way too stiff in the front for the rear end - crashy while the rear was almost stock-compliant.

780, converted HD / Previa rear, Bilstien TC and 1 coil cut stock front spring - good match, nice ride, controlled and taut but without being harsh.

In short: Unless IPD did something unique with the valving of their rear conversion shock, I'd say the TC is a better match for the front than the HD. It also depends on what they did for rear spring rates, but that might be something you should talk to IPD about.
