Well, it's the switch on the gearbox. My brother helped me check for continuity at the switch, and there is none. He was none too thrilled at that joke of a reverse "switch". This does not look like a fun job. Springtime it is for that! I think I might have to warm up the rubber on the switch before trying to muscle it in.
I have another m41 with Laycock overdrive in it, and the same switch looks to be off to the side of the case. Craig, I'll have to search for other switches on other transmissions as you mentioned previously.

Everything looks mighty fine there! I especially like how long that resonator is.

Thanks Matt! It's taken a while but good progress was made, so I am pleased about that.

Thanks Craig! It's been a summer of good results, and the road is moving more under the car. It's about time I get it moving more under its own power. Now thinking about redoing the rear and front suspension and bushings... never stops, does it!

Another tiny update - a friend out of Saskatoon sold me some Recaro recliners. Those are now fitted to the new bases (since Recaro recliners have two blot holes on the bottom recliner arm rather than one on the previous round-knob adjuster, the different bases are required), and they look really good. New hardware ordered from the man in Greece, which should be here next month I think.

Plans for the spring are getting that Volvo tach to work with the 123 dizzy, and figuring out those reverse lights still. Maybe adding a bluetooth receiver and a single good quality speaker? But that won't stop me from enjoying the car in the meantime.

Edit: Good thing I re-read my earlier posts. I now have a reverse switch in the gearbox to replace as well.
