Almost there Gents...this weekend was kicked off in great style when Dale and Beth came down for a working weekend. Greg stopped by to assist as well and with the three of us working we actually got the car out of the garage late on Sunday evening.
Given my two week hiatus to go witness the Olympic spectacle, I was a little further back than I wanted to be for Saturday. Friday was spent putting out fires at work and wet sanding the car (because it wasnt' shiny enough). Here's a few shots of the final polishing on Saturday AM.
Here I'm going to town with the wool buff...don't use it at this steep of an attack angle unless you either know what your doing or are moving very fast.
Then I switched to the foam buffs (blue is the "coarse" one) - a little squirt of water helps lube things a little.
Easy does it...looking good.
I only cut and polished the top half of the car. Here's the results after the white "fine" buff.
Then we masked the car back up again and I sprayed one little touch up in the trunk (note haze in photo on the drivers side) and shot the semi gloss black for the butt cheaks.
Greg then put the winter wheels back on and we started cleaning and putting the legal stuff (lights/horns etc) back on the car.
Then I drilled a couple of holes for the bumper mounting plate - nerves of steel - no time for a wandering drill!
Then we sparked it up and got it back on the street...a little video of the start.
Then, in keeping with our club tradition, the empty garage shot (don't know what happened to Dale's camera on this one).
A special thanks to Dale and Greg for all the help. Couldn't have done it withouth you guys. No full outside pictures just yet as the car is in for a winshield today.
