Well I thought I would start a project thread for my two cars, my 83 242 turbo and my 87 245 dl
The story of these two are an interesting one, as I got both of them (along with one other) from the same guy.
I originally paid $500 for the 242, it was his project car so it came pre (half) disassembled, but its a US spec car (supposedly a euro import), with a flathood, stock quad squares, sooper dooper skinny bumpers, half finished body work and two very small rust holes.
the day I went to go pick the car up (from penhold... all 4 of my 240s have come from red deer) I picked the guy up at this feild in penhold where he had been storing 4 other cars, when I arrived I learnt that his girlfriend had broken up with him just then... a week before the lease was up on their place in sylvan lake... so he offered me another one of his cars... for free. enter the 245, 517 thousand kms and a timing problem, which ended up being just two switched plug wires, neither of the two previous owners figured that one out.
the cars were trailered from penhold / sylvan to my quarter section in sundre... where they sat for several months untill (last, last) October, where I (finally) got my own place with my gf... which included a garage. so my buddy and I went up and pulled the 225k mile b21ft with a tractor. first time pulling a motor. the 242 hasent been touched really since

come winter I went up again with a trailer and got the 245, which actually ran enough to get it on the trailer under its own power.
back in Calgary I timed and re-timed the motor to try and get it running. after some help from you guys, I determined the car had two switched plug wires. DUH.
add some foglights, andys old chalkboard flathood, refinished virgos and p205/55/r15 tires, new plugs, wires, timing belt, cap + rotor, and coil, we get this

After a few months I decided that the wagon needed MOAR POWA, with a good .42/.48, intercooler and numerous other parts off the 242, I +t'd it.
Along with a new headgasket, new waterpump, thermostat, radiator, and numerous other gaskets I got it running with the NA computers and Injectors... not the best setup, but when this moron on TB gets me my crap I can finally get the car up to a nice base. with the cooling system in order now, I will be able to turn up the boost in the near future.
Also replaced the rusty ass rear hatch with a rust free 85 hatch I happened to find in the yard. now painted black, It looks like this
[insert pics here later]
As for the 242, its done nothing but sit in my garage, ( I brought it down after the wagon got on the road in September) and stripped the interior and engine block. next step is to rebuild the motor and get the car re-wired this summer.
