Since I am tired of chasing my tail,I have decided to go single intank pump. These are both inline pumps, they make a good replacement for the main pumps on 240 series (maybe others) just make sure your pre pump is up to snuff. I have been running one of these for the last 30,000km,no issues, and easy to install. Lately it had been making extra noise... so changed fuel filter, afpr, bought new pump (why i have 2) still noisy with new pump, and getting nasty leanout @ higher rpm, so i have a feeling the intank is not working as it should (?).Any how these will supply enough fuel for most applications.

Walbro 255 > 50km on it $150

Same as above aprox 30000km $75

Update....I put a call into Walbro, they tell me that these pumps are "positive displacement",in other words they will also suck fuel as well as pressurise....so,if you remove your intank and extend the pickup to the bottom of the tank(incorporate a filter as well) they should do ok. It is a little late for me as I have already changed to an Aeromotive intank :(
