I'm posting this on behalf of a retired Volvo mechanic I met out here in Penticton, his name is Tom Peart & he owned & ran what must have been the only Volvo garage in Penticton since the 50's. I met him through a friends' neighbor, who noticed the 122 was running a bit lean & suggested having Tom take a look at it.
I watched from the sidelines as Tom got the 122 purring real nice! It was all a bit overwhelming for this greenman! I can't believe the sound & power the 122 is making now!
Anyways...Back to the 240 for sale, it's an '84....& I've forgotten all the details

(long weekend, go figure!). It's not a project though, more like a showroom condition 240 with quite a lot of performance upgrades, this was Tom's family car & has been given a ground-up 'Tom Treatment' (or has been 'Tomized' as he put it)
I'm waiting for Tom to email me the specs, but I've got a few pics in the meantime:

Note the dent in the drivers door, it's getting fixed this week. The car was parked on the street & some kids kicked it in. See the wagon in the back? It was owned by a woman here in Penticton who was quite disabled. Tom had a relationship with Volvo Canada & was able to perform the maintenance under warranty on the wagon which saved the woman a long drive to the nearest dealership. When the woman passed away last year, she left the wagon in her will to Tom!

Super clean!
I tried to get some shots of the engine & such but the lighting wasn't in my favor.
Again this is not a project! Tom is asking $7200, & he's not advertising it much, just through word of mouth. As he put it, 'people here can't fathom paying $7200 for an '84 Volvo.'
If anyone is interested they can reach Tom at
peart_@shaw.ca or give him a ring at (250) 493-2698
I'll try to get the specs up today.
