Being that I'll need a screen for the GT one day, and I don't want to risk losing my chance at one 'cause I don't know how rare they're getting, I figure it's time to start looking. Vintage Imports can get 122 windshields but they're pick-up only, in Delta BC. I figure if I'm going out there for one this summer, I might as well pick up a few if necessary. I won't need it until next year at the VERY earliest, but I've got some other, bulkier sheetmetal bits that I might as well pick up too.

So, if you'd like one (or something else) and find the cost or complete lack of shipping inconvenient, let me know. If you're flexible with your time requirements, maybe the family and I will make a trip out of it.

I'd take one. Have you checked Valentine?

I haven't checked Valentine yet, Craig, no. For $250 at VIP I doubt Valentine can beat the price. I'm not sure about 544 or 1800 units, though, and I'm not sure if we can get him to drop his price a bit when ordering in bulk.

I'd like to get a list of committed buyers, plus their orders and deposits, ready for the end of May so that I could go out there in July or something. For now we'll keep this confined to the thread, but eventually I'm going to want something more serious.

How about you other vintage guys?

Hmm, have to to think on this, but right now no. Too many things on the go, interest in the 544 is at a low ebb.

I definitely need one. I should check out my graveyard before I commit though.

Hey Ugly Duck, check out thread "desparate" in pics section about antique volvo parts distributer in states. They go all the way back to 444/445's and seem to carry all the parts. They are affiliated with a parent Swedish company so all prices are in Kroner but the Kroner is running about $.147 CDN (14.7cents) right now. I found a windshield for my PV544 for approx $156 and am going to order it asap.

Please tell us when you find out how much it's going to cost to ship a windshield from Sweden...

I'm assuming they have parts at their own facilities in the US. If it has to be shipped from Sweden, I will probably be looking elsewhere but will let you know when and what I find out.

Ok, I need some solid numbers here - participants, part numbers, and quantities please. The deadline approaches!

If they have windshields for 544s at a reasonable price, I'll buy one but would like to keep the price down. Pension doesn't go all that far. If you can get a quote, I'd appreciate it.

I'd be interested in one for a '67 122s. Could you let me though, how many dollars and what you need for deposit?

I think I'm going to have to bail on my own thread. I talked to another local and he says he's ordered windshields from Valentine for not a whole lot more than what I would be paying Olof for them (roughly $300 all included), and I wouldn't have to pick them up. The difference wouldn't be worth the gas, not even if I picked up half a dozen windshields at the same time.

Besides, I don't really need one for a few years, and I was just being proactive in case the supply dried up. It doesn't sound like there's much danger in that happening, so I'll risk it.

Sorry guys. Thread closed.
