 Wow. That's the highest priced stock 240 I've seen here in a long time. I mean, I know what values are like in certain places in the States, but I don't think we're quite there yet. I'm thinking 8K?

Yeah depending on what it looks like in person I don't think $8K would be unreasonable, if it was a stick I'd do it. If it shows really nice, needs absolutely nothing, and has all the history to verify could go higher but it has to be a time capsule car.

Don't know why it never dawned on me till now that this being a 92' has the blacked out trim, that's worth another $3K right there. On a serious note there was a 92' silver wagon this summer with super low miles in the Chuck that was priced high, but more in line with what we're thinking I believe. This has to be a flip, how many silver 92's with super low miles come up at once...

Hmmmm....suspicious. Could be a flip then. Haha, yeah, I do like the black trim, but wow, indeed it would need to be a time capsule car. And a stick.

Speaking of tidy...wow, I don't think I've ever seen a diesel this clean. Unreal.

If anyone wanted a 142 that would be the one. Pretty sweet, though I'm not a 140-series fan so it doesn't give me the fizz. That diesel is so clean, too bad it's not a wagon. A silver wagon with blue caterpillar hide interior and a diesel would be a pretty nifty car (once the diesel part was ... updated).

Just love the clean front/rear end on 140's.

Fully agreed. I forget....is there already a turbo on those engines?

No turbo. They are pathetically slow. The problem is they have old school diesel gearing so at 100km/h they have no power. At 130 they have lots of power to climb hills etc. Change the gearing to get the revs up a bit and they'd be way better. The engines rev to 5k so no reason to have them geared so long...

Wonder what the underside looks like based on those almost non-existent rockers...

But they're easy to repair and the parts are super easy to get and high quality. It would depend on how original the rest of the car is - the rest sounds fixable.

Ahhhh, interesting. So a shorter rear end would make a difference.

I had a wagon for a couple of years so know first hand how bad they can really be. We towed our little tent trailer with our '73 145 and our '75 245 so figured the Diesel wagon would do fine. Not so much. It was so slow it was actually dangerous. We'd be down to 2nd gear on Scott Lake hill, just west of town. There is a thumbscrew on the rack to make it richer. More black smoke but more power too...until the temperature gauge starts to climb and you either back your foot off the firewall or lean it out a bit. You learn to drive them like the gas pedal is an on/off switch. Anything in between is pointless. Like I said, if you could get it up to 130 it would stay there all day. As soon as you had to back out, you were done and had to wait for another downhill to get there again. I don't think it would accelerate to 130 on flat ground. Turbocharging is the only way to go...
