I'm a pretty big fan of it. But I also love all the annoying bright colours Volvo had in the 70's too. With Atacama is truly awesome.

Ouch, tough crowd,

I'm with Greg, the sheer euro weirdness of that color combo works for me. Look at some of the flat greens, browns, tan/beige etc. that MB, Volvo etc. used as Greg mentions, they weren't mainstream at all which is what gave them the oddball euro charm of that era. I also think that Flash Green is a hard color to photograph, looks a lot less washed out in person.

FWIW the chatter on SS is that this car sold in less than a week for $14K. That's close to a $6K premium (using KBB value which is of course is low for a VR) for the color combo. That's just nuts....

Wow. Not surprised it sold for that much though. If it were a manual, you'd probably tack another 2k onto the selling price.

Never heard of that wagon in Edmonton. I'll be interested to see more photos.

Actually the VR was a stick, and only ~ 7x,xxx miles (can't remember the actual miles).

not familiar with this one at all. maybe because it doesnt get driven much, or he just acquired it.
Check out his facebook page for more pics....also has some other interesting stuff

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Collecti ... tos_stream

On further reading of his Facebook page it came from Red Deer originally. I have a feeling this car came to one of our club meets whilst still in the hands of the RD guy. That car had no interior....which would explain the sourcing of one.
iirc that car was running ok, but lacked anything special. still don't understand the fuel cell taking up all the trunk
space. I sure hope it comes with more than coilovers....like try better bushings etc.
Ask me how I know that :)

I just tripped across that guy on some other FB Group...maybe the Streetwheelers group. He claims that Golf with the blue wheels makes 420 hp at the wheels...

The black Golf with blue wheels belongs to a friend of a friend. Met him at Street Wheelers last year. It too is quick. Turbo VR6. I've seen the white Golf and the bagged Benz at a few United Cycle meets too, but they're not up my alley, so I didn't look at them much.

That wagon.

It was built by my friend Bryce in red deer.

The coil overs, true track, camber plates, iPd adjustable stuff all came from my 242.

Te engine was tired when he sold it for 2500 2 summers ago.

Not a bad looking 16v wagon. Needs an OOP and a manual swap.
