Ok... so I found my wagon, plans changed..

I decided to complicate my life and buy a 96 960 with an engine knock.

NOW... I bought his aero kit thinking I'd buy a pre 90 wagon to put it on. Guess I won't be putting this on the 960 since it won't really fit!

I'm not sure if I want to sell it yet, but before it goes on turbobricks is anyone in Calgary interested?

Also.. that 86 745ti I picked up and failed inspection with.. is there any interest in calgary for that? I'd be worried about driving it there, so that's a big of a hurdle. Has alot of decent interior parts though. Bad engine knock.. but it starts and runs decent, turbo boosts just fine.

How much do you want for the wagon? That's got way less rust than Beth's car and Beth's car has a reasonable engine if that one's no good...

Dale don't you have to do an out of province inspection? You really have to watch 7's for rust under the undercoating. I have seen so many that look nice, but as soon as you hit the frame rail above the rear control arm rod in the front, its straight through the rail. I would almost venture to say that my rust free 7 from BC probably suffered from this also.

I'm not trying to screw geoff out of a deal (I'm sure he failed because of rust anyways). I'm just trying to save someones life with this. I can't believe some of the cars on the road, that look decent.

The car came from Alberta...no need for an OOP inspection...

No need for death either. I suppose you could replace floors & such, but you've already got a ton of work going on.

(I just watched a show on Discovery last night about vehicle accidents. I take back everything I have ever said about the "new Volvo" attitude of safety... They're still on the cutting edge - it's just not as obvious as it was in the olden days.)

I'd be interested in the Aero kit too, Geoff, but let Ian have first crack at it. Ian, if the Aero kit thing happens, can I buy your splitters?

Well the car was definitely last registered in Alberta.. there is no records of me even bringing it to Sask at all (as in paper trail).

I did a fair amount of work to this car to try get it to pass saftey. I even welded in the floors myself and undercoated! I took pictures after I welded and primed.. my welds suck, but this was my first time welding something like this (and my 6th time using a mig ever), so I was proud!

BUT, the car is not in good shape, fair amount of bondo.. example this rear wheel arch you can see the bondo.

There is even bondo on the roof..

The car has a quite acceptable interior, and the undercarriage is undercoated BIG time.. even underhood. So the rust isn't really bad thanks to that. It is weak where Jordan mentioned however. There was a plate welded on one part of the frame to fix the right side, not the left however.

The instrument cluster is messed up thanks to me, no backlighting now so that would need replacing. Suspension seems half decent however, though I never drove the car more than a block.

I would sell the car for $400 since that's what it's worth in parts to me, if nobody wants it then I can just keep it :D

I think I'm going to sell the bodykit for sure, I don't have it yet (it's still in California) but I definitely won't be needing it now. Ian i'll PM you about pricing if you want it.. I want to see what it'll cost to land it in Canada before I say anything though, I might be busy for the next couple of weeks. But at least now I'll go through the effort of getting it to Canada instead of selling and leaving it in the states.
