I need an M46, or an overdrive atleast. The one in my GT is pooched. I won't have the GM T5 in anytime soon with the possibility of a break up in my life. But I need an M46 to get me to Calgary if things do head south...

Anyone got one laying around? I really don't have much money at this time. Trade for GT interior parts? Some other parts? Cost on Volvo parts?

M46s grow on trees.

I can take the overdrive off mine and ship it to you if you really want?

Hm. Sure. Are they all interchangeable? I don't know. I'll ask the old guys at work tomorrow. Since there is J type and P type? I'll find out

Is the OD actually fscked? Like cone clutch wasted? Or just doesn't go into OD? Piston seals ever been done? Fluid level ever been topped? Solenoid pass fluid/air through it when jumped?

Cone clutch failures happen, but they aren't that common. When they get to be super high mile the bores for the pistons egg out and they pretty much eat piston seals no matter what you do. This is like 300+K mile cars that are real beat down on the west coast USA and miled and miled. IPD sells the volvo update pistons I think too. If you powershift a J-type OD into OD in boost and shim the pressure up a bit it blows the seals clear off.

If I had a dollar for every time I broke little oddball things in a brick being a savage...

Well the car sat for about 10 years. Then I drove it seriously from the coast to the dead center of Canada. By the time I got here OD wasn't disengaging very quickly. Now it won't even disengage. Well it took about 10 minutes of driving before it did. I have not touched it since.

I drained the fluid this spring. It had Engine oil in it. I swapped in Some ATF (whatever the manual called for). I have not tried it since. I don't want it toget stuck on.
