For those of you not following the PnP Update Thread I thought I'd mention that there is a '95 940 at PnP. All 940s had limited slip diffs. I assume the 940 diffs could be swapped into a 740/760 ?

The car would have been an automatic (engine & tranny gone) so I'm not sure what the ratio would be on that diff or how easy/difficult it would be to change it to something more preferable if it's not ideal for your car. It doesn't look like that car had a lot of miles on it. Speedo is gone too so don't know what the mileage was. All I can tell you is that it was a teal '95 940 and was serviced at Bert & Jack's. Cancer Man ?

Since this is not a sale ad and just a PSA, I'll reply with this:

a) It's a locker, not a real limited slip. One works all the time, the other acts suddenly, only below about 50 kph, and when one wheel spins much more than the other.

b) These lockers break easily, so it might not work. No user serviceable parts inside.

c) I thought it was only the turbos that got lockers.

d) if it's an automatic N/A, it'll probably be a 4.10. Turbo would be a 3.73 most likely. I'm not certain the ring gear is shared between locker and non-locker versions.

e) Take the axles while you're at it, because they're shorter to make up for the extra mechanicals.

f) I have a bare one in my shed if anyone wants it. No axles, no housing, no gears.

Regarding d) ring gear: duh, it does fit, 'cause I swapped the open diff in my 740T for the locker, using my gears. Regarding c) turbos: I may be mistaken, since the one I have had a ring gear that said 41/10, meaning it was a 4.10 and was from an NA car.

I also have a complete g80 from a turbo. It has the 3.73 ring, no pinion.

Ill let it go if theres a reasonable offer for it. May save you getting dirty.

No moon roof/sunr roof. On '95s, pretty much everything was an option, even on the Turbos. Not like the earlier ones where the Turbos came fully loaded.
