I posted this in the general marketplace, figured might as well post here as well.

I'm looking to buy either 15 or 16 inch rims that will fit a 122s.

Or

Does anyone have (or know where in town to get) the 'classic' car tires that would fit a 122? They're P165/80R15.

Thanks

I haven't seen that tire size for a few years. Discount Tire Direct lists a Nankang tire that size. Tire Rack shows no tires that size. That tells you how popular it is. Most people go to 195/65/15 although that's a wide tire on a stock rim...

I'm going to say that Corker has them...cause they do - but they also want real money for them.

The original rims are too narrow for 205's. Only 4 inches. Can't fit anything except the specialty 'classic' tires.
I know Vredestein still advertises the Sprint & like 122_Canuck said Corker sells them at a ridiculous price.

Sorry that's not true. I guess I can squeeze 185/65/15's on those rims but the tires won't last long.

Are you sure? I'm pretty-sure I used to run 205's on the front in the winter.

 Trust me

I'm not sure actually. I've been told different things.

I guess the stock rims are 5 inches not 4.

Its Art are you using the stock rims? I can't imagine 205's on stock.

Still looking, although I think I'm going to order a set of VTO wheels or a set of Panasports (or minilites, or superlites....). The 8 spoke wheels look appropriate for the car.

Here's a question:

Does anybody know of a Canadian source for VTO's or Panasports? (or minilites, or superlites). The shipping costs from USA are ridiculous. I did find one company in Vancouver that could order Panasports but they quoted me almost $300/wheel & said Panasport didn't make a wheel with +24 offset so I'd need spacers. $300/wheel & they don't even fit proper? No thanks.
VTO seems reasonable, $700 for a set. But the shipping to Canada adds $200-$400.

Shipping will be built in if you buy them from a Canadian source. Look into getting them shipped to the border and pick them up. Craig can give you info on a place in Sweetgrass that will accept deliveries on your behalf. Go pick them up. You'll have to pay taxes and possibly duty but you'll have to pay that anyway...

Here ya go...

Free shipping in the US. Right size. Right offset. Giddyup...

Hi - sorry I never got back about the rims w. 205's. They were the wider ones from a wagon, that is all I can remember. I'm certain they will fit, but I imagine now you are going with 17's, or some such thing.

no at the moment the VTO rims, or panasports, will still be 15 inch wheels. The car is becoming more than just a daily city driver for me. Started taking it out of town, heading west & possibly south to California. She's done 800km so far with no issues at all. Amazing on the highway at 100-110km/h. I couldn't belive the mileage i got!

Sorry, got off topic there.
