Hi - I'm looking to get my tranny rebuilt, but failing that, a swap. Anything good out there??

Heeeelp - tranny parts!!!

I have a box of stuff from John, and they (National Transmission) are going to pull it and see what-needs, but that is not all that comforting.

If you have a tranny you don't want to part with, I'm pleading here. I've GOT to leave next week for the US. If you give me a complete tranny, I'll have the old one rebuilt (but it might be more than a week), and you can have a better one back.

I'll complain later about I got in this pickle, but for now I'm just hoping for a happy ending (then won't need to complain).

I have two M41s of unknown quantity. I need one, but not for a couple of years, and the other one I would rebuild as a spare. One is in the backyard, one is in the car (which is also in the backyard, and kind of needs something to hold the back of the engine up).

I have a couple of M40s, and at least one M41 (other than the one that Dale tried, which has a broken gear.)

I've got the M41 I pulled out of my 122 when I took it off the road. It worked fine. I've got another as well but its condition is unknown. I'm not going to need a working transmission for a few months so I can let you have my good one...

Hi Guys,

That's awesome - thanks guys. My guy who was going to do it had to back out. He just couldn't swing it, as he is leaving on holidays thursday morning. Now I'm thinking I'll drive it as-is, and just drop slowly into 4th. I need to get a lot of other things done, including get some road miles on it asap. If everything works-out, I'll take somebody up on their offer, and yes, arrange for a rebuild as a swap, but I guess I'd have to do it myself on the weekend. So many other things hanging over my head at the moment that need to be taken care-of, that I don't think it is likely. I've ordered a seal kit from Olaf, and I'll get a syncho and bearings off of John before I leave, so when I get to NY and settle-in it will be a simple-enough job. Olaf tells me it is no big-deal to rebuild these trannys (he just did it), so I would like that.

The fellow I found is decent enough. He works at Ram Transmissions, and does side-jobs at home (lives in Meadowlands, for all you southern-dwellers). His name is Scott, ph 560-0946.
