Hey all!
I need a good excuse to go to Red deer/Calgary with a truckload of parts so i'm putting this out there if anyone needs em!
If there is enough interest I can make the trip within 3 weeks.

First off, i have a parts car that needs to be put out of its misery.
93 940 turbo wagon
+300k on the body, ~200k on the motor.

Pics:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120517-00463.jpg

Athal(swedishmeatball)$300 for the B230FT motor, got a bit of slap when cold but disappears when warm, runs great otherwise. Comes with turbo, all accessories, and a free AW71 auto transmission.
$100 for the wiring harness
Jim(woodenshoes)$20 ea LH2.4 9xx fuel computer / EZK box (-148 i believe)
Jim(woodenshoes)(1)$60 for intercooler + all piping (good upgrade for 740 turbos, i have 2 complete sets)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120512-00410.jpg

$40 for radiator
$200 for the headlights, trim, and grille

post/PM me with anything else you need. I really don't really feel like pulling the suspension/diff/glass so if you want that stuff you may as well take the whole car. (rear struts are leaking unfortunately)

$500 for the whole car
$200 for the whole car without an engine

Other 7/9 parts:
$200 lowering springs for 7/9 sedan
$40 Dale's adjustable cam gear, square tooth
$50 magnaflow exhaust (came off a 740 wagon)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120512-00399.jpg

Jim(woodenshoes)$100 iPD upper chassis brace
Jim(woodenshoes)$50 cherry turbos lower chassis brace

$400 940 e-codes with all required bracketry, and connectors with pigtails
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120309-00153.jpg

$40 r-sport/MOMO steering wheel hub for a 240(someone to confirm?)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120512-00403.jpg

$20 90+ exhaust manifold that's cracked in 4 places (lol)
$30 3" 960 MAF (025)
$20ea stock alternators(2) and ignition coils(2)
$150 46mm Driftmotion (Tial style) wastegate /w screamer pipe and all hardware/flanges
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120624-00577.jpg
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120624-00578.jpg

$60 massive-ass ford fan (bigger than a Lincoln mark 8 fan). will include a couple of relays + wiring.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120512-00415.jpg
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120512-00416.jpg

$40 940 bumper
$40 740 intercooler
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120512-00410.jpg

i have a b230ft block on the stand that has a spun rod bearing. if anyone wants to do a rebuild PM me for more info. $80 for the block.

I have lots more stuff...post/PM me with what you need and i might have it. I'll add more as i go.

pics will be up shortly!
Please ask questions and request more pictures!
Once i reach at least $400 i'll book the trip.

Hi Sol,

Can you PM Paul (CANCER MAN), I know he needs a 900 series hood and hinges pronto. You could also call him at Bert & Jack's 403-228-7078.

Good luck with the rest of the sale.

Craig

I need to sort something out for my car.

Plan was to drive it back to Calgary and sell it to Jades uncle once we were settled here and had new wheels. Seeing as I'm not working yet, that's taking longer than expected.

The head gasket I replaced last year is already showing signs of failing (couple of rough chugs on cold start, evidence of coolant on the #1 plug) so I'm quite sure the patch job I did on the damaged block isn't holding.

I'm now at the stage where I have to decide if I'm going to keep it here and try and find a replacement motor, and likely have to pay someone to swap it since I don't really have the means to do it myself. "Boss" approval is low on this option. The only other option besides dumping it is getting it back to Calgary and trying to get a motor swap done.

Registering and getting an out of province here doesn't make much sense with a bad motor.

So for now I'll call dibs on the motor, at least let me know if someone else is interested. Did you ever get a warm compression check on it?

This is, in fact, a new motor from a different 940 than my last part out. (100k less kms on it than the last one tho :D )
The car is sitting at my rent's place at the moment, i will get that compression test done and throw the numbers up here as soon as i can.

I will take the ECU, EZK, both chassis braces, and 1 turbo for sure. What are the details on the exhaust from the 740 wagon, I need something for my 745Ti from the catback. Also might take the front bumper cover if it's better than mine lol, and can be bolted straight up.

What exactly is the upgrade you mentioned on the intercooler and piping from a 940 to my 90 745?? Possibly interested in that as well.

If the interior is black and the inner tailgate panel is OK I need one of those as well, mine isn't bad but one of the plastic tabs on the bottom is broken off. Would be interested in the headliner as well if it's good and you don't mind pulling/transporting it. Also could use a drivers side taillight for a 7/9 wagon, and the inside taillight cover for the passenger side once again if it's black.

I am just outside of Lethbridge so will try and meet up in Calgary when you are there or else have it dropped at the inlaws.

Hey Jim,

so to answer some of your questions:
- Exhaust is just the high flow cat(not even sure it is a cat, might just be a resonator), and a muffler. stock diameters. Loud, obnoxious and looks cool
here's a pic:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG-20120309-00157.jpg
here's a pic of it on the car (one on the right):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/Projects.jpg

-If i remember correctly, the bumper cover does not fit on a 740 unless you have the 940 style headlights. The bumper has a tan strip on it. here's a pic when it was still on the car:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7614653/IMG0095 ... 2-1648.jpg

-the 940 intercooler core is larger, and has mid-mounted inlets/outlets.

-I'll have to check on the tailgate panel, as well as the headliner, never really had a good look at it

-I have taillights for ya just take them both, $50 for the set.

Hey Sol, thanks for all of the info/pics.

Can you get a close up shot of the taillights for me please? I'm going to pass on the exhaust, intercooler and bumper but am still interested in the headliner, tailgate panel and taillight inner covers when you have had a chance to check them out. Thanks, Jim.

Seriously, let me know the condition of this motor. Driving back to Calgary to do an engine swap MIGHT end up being my best option, depending what I can find down here.

Christ, I'm even doing the math on importing a low mileage (ie. 60,000km) RHD 940 turbo from Japan, just for the engine, and a few parts to sell.

Sol, you know I want the wheels but are you coming down the 904 straight to Calgary? I could meet you where it crosses the 41 at Oyen and get the wheels off you there. I could get my grandson to drive me up to Oyen. Will those lowering springs work on multi-link rear suspension and are they stiffer than stock also. Would like to improve handling on 740. Please let me know here or on the "740 wheels wanted" thread. Thanks, Keith

Hey Keith,

Part of the reason for my doing this is so that i can deliver these wheels to you!

I'm in the middle of figuring out when is the best time to book the trip. Once i have a clear date that works for everyone then i'll give you a call and we can make a plan on where/how to meet. I probably wont go to red deer as originally planned.

Is your 740 multilink rear suspension?? I thought all 740s were solid axle...As far as i know these are uprated springs that have a coil or two cut to lower them... They will only work with the solid axle sedans.
I'll snap a picture of the springs side-by-side my stock 940 springs.

Get those compression numbers yet?

Any idea when you'll be heading to Calgary? I'll have to coordinate with my tenant (wifes uncle) to have you leave the motor in the garage.
