does the transam circut still exist? like, the road courses for the 'small block' engines?

just a vauge curiosity thing...cause i mean come on...quarter mile vs. road course....which would YOU rather do?

Trans Am itself has been dead since the mid '70s, I think. There's other good stuff with regard to V8s and road courses, though nothing that gets television airtime except for the two Nextel Cup and two Busch road courses every year.

Have you seen any CORR events on TV? That stuff's wild! 850 horsepower "trucks" on a motocross track.

Edit - scratch the above about TA. It carried on well into the '80s at least. I really don't know.

I think the only V8 road racing going on is in Australia with the V8 Supercar series.

Although I dont think its the V8 kinda cars you were thinking.

I loved that old PanAm racing, I would also love to build a replica someday. Mmmmmmmm V8 rumble.
