So as some of you may know from my other thread where I was looking for a voltage regulator... a few weeks ago my reg. was shorting out and killing my battery. Got that fixed (special thanks to Greg!), next problem...

Last week I went to pick up a buddy for my weekly soccer game, and go to start the car.... but it won't catch. At first I thought fuel pump, but I check my handy pressure guage, and all was good. After a few minutes of fuse checking and thinking, I remembered that the radio suppression relay goes sometimes, and that would kill power to the injectors.... So I Switched the that relay with that of the electric fan, and off we went! Next problem please,

Next day I drive home to calgary, get off deerfoot, and at the next light, I can barely get the car to move... it was jerking and revving up, and then catching, almost like a slipping clutch, but I know the clutch isn't worn out yet....has to be the m46 overdrive! Then to add troubles, remember I switched the relay for my e-fan? That's right, I start overheating in traffic on 16th. So Thankfully it started moving before the temp got too high, and I was able to make it home where I had an extra relay in store!
So I spent the weekend at the junkers, found a m47 out of a 240 that had 260K Km on it (a much better candidate than the m46 that I pulled with 330k on it, which is now around 360k).

Which brings me to the purpose of this thread. I'm in need of the front half (or whole) driveshaft from a 740 with a m47. Also may need the shifter cage, and crossmember (although it looks like the m46 cage and crossmember may work with the m47).
As a bonus the 240 was an 89' So I ended up pulling everything, the engine was the later style with the relocated thrust bearing, and larger rods (16vt project??), and I also got a spare lh 2.4 bellhousing and flywheel (if anyone's looking for one of either pm me) out of the deal.
What a day today though, Saturday me and my brother pulled the tranny, and then i lost sleep Saturday night over the engine, so I went back Sunday and grabbed the engine, but I had to do it alone....man those things are heavy!!!

Oh and to add to all of this, I just converted my brother over to the dark-side, he just bought a 94' 854 turbo after his jeep was stolen. But last weekend driving home from the bridge' after visiting me for the weekend he slid on some ice, slid off the highway, hit some fence poles, and wrecked the side of his 850. He and my girlfriend that were in the car were both o.k. though, so the car did it's job. Goes in to the bodyshop Tuesday to determine if it will be written off or not. Just a baby at 19XK Km.

Finally, on a lighter note, after the accident my girlfriend is now looking at and 850 turbo wagon, seeing how well my brother's car faired. One by one I'm turning them over to Volvos!
WHAT A MONTH!

Are you kidding, you did not just post 9 minutes after me, at 2 in the morning! Crazyness, when I checked my e-mail before bed I was sure the notification was just for my post...
I do hope you're joking, it slips in all gears, but if anyone wants parts off it that's fine by me!

If that radio suppression relay is one of the ones in a plastic enclosure you can easily take the cover off it and see if it can be repaired. Usually those Bosch relays fail because of cracked solder joints on the circuit board so all you'd need to do is reflow the faulty joint(s) and snap the cover back on and you can put it back in service again.

Sorry, I can't help you as far as M47 parts go. You could maybe try the ReVolv store in Saskatoon. 1-866-357-0027. I need something from there too so let me know if you're going to order some parts from them and I'll throw my order in with yours and pay a share of the shipping costs. If you're lucky you might be able to get the parts delivered for free. They sometimes come through here on their way to the coast to pick up some cars and they will bring parts with them and meet their Calgary area customers in Airdrie. You'd have to check with them to find out when their next trip to the coast will be. If they happen to be going this week or next things could work out ok for you. I could maybe go out to Airdrie and meet up with them if you're down in the Bridge if and when they come through here.
