yeah...that actually happened to me yesterday. But somehow when I closed the door it kicked something back in so I wasn't left with a window wide open all night (cause that would have been scary)

Kat, this is like friggin T-Ball. You only REQUIRE a flat blade screw driver. If you go to Princess Auto (your virtual namesake) you can get one for $2 or a set for $9.99. We all have nice collections of screwdrivers and you know what they say - the quickest way to loose your tools is to loan them to someone.

Next up to bat...Kat and her new screw driver

dood. i wasn't suggesting running away with it!!!!

Maybe I was also looking for some guidance in the "dear god don't let me completely screw my car" way - since I've never ever ever ever done anything even remotely electrical before!!!!

FINE! I'll go acquire me a flathead...(still looking for some wisdom?)

With the keys in your pocket (that way the sparkies stay in the battery), insert the tip of the screw driver in the place noted by the pictures on the website. Pry up. Unplug old, plug in NEW. Easier than making cookies. In fact, I'm quite sure you could do this with a butter knife.

I used one to change the tail light bulb in the Beetle in Crappy Tire parking lot. You have to pry those lights out. So Kat, a regular knife will work for this job, and don't be affraid to pry that sucker out. Heck, go try it right away.

lol dale, i'm kind of scared to ask about that one!

*edit* I'm picking up the part on Saturday, so I'm just going to play with it then. Or Sunday cause I promised Jenn some car shopping. No point in having exposed electrical for dog hair to get into!

You don't actually have to buy a new one. The contacts just get dirty on them so all you really have to do is pull it apart and clean the contacts. I have a spare on in my box actually if you want, I'll trade you them. But I am going on leave for 4-6 weeks starting tomorrow.

bright side - i've managed to find the part for about a hundred bucks cheaper (shipping included, and still a new part) so with luck its here tomorrow, if not, then i'll get it sometime next week.

one of my lawyers was making fun of me...so uh, if anyone hears of any vehicle fires in the ramsey area...its just me... lol jk.

Seriously though, I guarantee nothing.

;)
