Darth needs one.

I assume the stock plastic end tank style can't be re-cored.
Worldpac has stock nissens ones for ~$260. How much would an all-aluminum one be (I noticed craigs fancy one).

any other ideas, or better one to get than the stock?

Craig paid over $500 for his but it's custom-made. I'm trying to remember how much I paid for the one in the red 122. I don't think it was over $200. Lemme check with Grand Prix...

Yup - $500 for the tig welded custom rad in the 122. I can hook you up if you're interested. It's a two row core and will cool over 400 hp.

pretty...but pretty un-necessary for what is, and shall remain, an essentially stock 940. Plus, I need to get it on the road soon, I'm already getting tie rods, ball joints and alignment as well as the water pump, t-belt tensioner and the rest of the stuff I'm replacing.
when the 242's needs replacing though...

dealer wanted over $400, city wide over $300 and the other parts stores just use worldpac, so I guess that's where I'll get mine!

That's what motivated the custom job for me...the replacement rad is around $480 (or it was at the time) and I've had this guy do more than one rad for my projects. Always come out very nice.

Thanks Paul, ended up with the nissens one for about that price. Is the one you refer to genuine volvo? According to all the parts lists, the non-turbo one is about $100 *cheaper* than the turbo. I've no idea what the difference is.

ya i don't know why, but it is original and for whatever reason the turbo is cheaper on my guide.

I bought a really nice aluminium one off ebay........was about 220 us,back when dollar was about 93 cents...can look up the supplier if anyone is interested. It is nicely made and fits perfectly in the space allowed, keeps my car cool, even on the hottest days, with a couple of crappy e-fans.Now, shipping you say..........HA,I am lucky as my brother is along haul trucker,he usually picks up my stuff, and brings it across.Way cheaper that way.......
