Could be me, I'm still new at this. Last time there picked up the set of switches on the drivers side of the steering wheel from a 740, ie: the headlight, front and rear fog, and antenna (I think) switches all in the panel. I thought $40 for used electrical equipment that may not even work seemed high? He said he gets $10/switch so $40 for the panel of 4, am I cheap?? Have to admit I got 4, 13" steel rims for another car for $40 (but only "cuz" I had 4) which I thought was OK.

Yeah, I understand. $10 a switch does sound steep.
Sometimes it depends on the guy that's behind the desk. I kinda know them now....so they just nod knowing I'll be heading off to the Volvos. I've always been able to haggle on the price there which is cool, and they usually do come down in price. Compared to going to some of the other places in town, they've been pretty good for me.
