OK, xray from august 09, look at the left pane, notice the screw that goes into the tibia and continues into the fibula.

this is when I started walking again.

OK, this xray is from a few weeks ago, notice the screw that WAS in both bones has taken a chunk outta the fibula and wiggled its way slightly out of the tibia. Yay! i can feel the screwhead up against my skin, it sucks - and I'm pretty sure my surgeon is a moron.

What do you guys think?

I want the screw out, I wanted it out when this last xray was taken and seen by my surgeon, but he wouldn't do it. Now it hurts/scratches more, and if I put my finger on the screw head, and move my foot around, I can feel it move up/down/side-to-side ... which I don't think a screw that goes through a plate and into a big bone should do.

I'm cross posting this on TB just to see if maybe penny will chime in :)

Holy hell, now I've got the image of the doctor with a can of brakleen to clean the hole, loctite 262 to set the screw, and an inch-lb torque wrench in his hand, flipping through his Haynes manual for a torque spec. Might have to use a Helicoil on that hole now!

Good use of plumber's all around. Next time use nyloc nuts! Seriously, how can he look at the X-ray and think nothing is wrong?
