Hey there

My car is slower than Andy's - like, 20-30 hp slower...

my exhaust resonator is stupidly undersized, is that it? We both have A cams, M46s, both shift fast and all (Andy does shift faster than me, this is known) - Both have slipping clutches (haha) - And I didn't think my 745ti was THAT much heavier than a 242? Is it?

Exhaust needs less resonator, THEN REMATCH! :D

For one: there's probably 300 or more pounds difference between your cars with you guys in them.

For two: is your base mixture and timing set Ras?

For three: the age, mileage and condition of that motor leads me to think there will be some pretty good blowby, oil vapours from the pcv system, dirty injectors and other stuff that means you're probably getting some pinging from not enough octane, or fuel, or both, so timing is being pulled, killing power.

Word.

Time for catchcan, and injector cleaner, and - do you have five mins to set my base mixture and timing mister Eh-Fuhl?

I'd giver the sea foam treatment too.

You still don't have a timing light? Or a multimeter? A simple needle meter for 12v will work on the LH test port on the passengers fender. Adjust the screw on the amm until the voltage is swinging equally from 0-12.

It seems i'm not around my house much lately, but if you can catch me there we can throw a timing light and multimeter on if you have neither.
