Hey Everyone,
My '81 240 GL (B23E K-jet) is getting very poor mileage these days and is not idling as near as high as it should when starting cold. Normally it would start up and idle at somewhere around 2000 rpm until it warms up in this weather but now it doesn't idle much faster than normal idling speed (~900 rpm) after a cold start so something's not quite right in FI land. I just recently put in a good used auxilliary air valve (air slide valve) that tested good so I'm pretty sure the air slide's not the source of the problem.
Thinking logically and looking at the troubleshooting/diagnosis chart in the Haynes manual I'm thinking it's probably the control pressure regulator that's gone flakey. I think that's the most logical thing to suspect. Right ?
If not, what else is it likely to be ?
Thanks in advance,
Roger
