Well yesterday it was my day ... or should I say it was not my day :(

Spent the day running around Calgary making client calls, after the last call I was driving north on Deerfoot and the car (the C70) started shifting a bit funny, slowly gets worst and by the time I reach the Bedington Trail exit the car is coasting and the engine revving at 4000+rpm. get off the road and the lower trany cooler line had blown off the rad. .

The previous weekend Andy and I had flushed the trany, but to do the trany flush you only have to disconnect the upper cooler line so this line was not touched, total coincidence.

Anyway I call my saviour, Joan, she drives out to NE during rush hour, we run over to Canadian Tire and buy $60 worth of trany fluid, plug the cooler line back in, fill the trany with 4 liters of oil and it seems to be operating normal, although I am sure the trany's life has been shortened considerably.

... but that is not the end of the story, on the way home I get a flat tire, to make things even worst this is the second flat in a week. I am now parking in a different spot at the transit Park-n-Ride.

In closing, if anyone comes across a decent trany for my C70 let me know, I think it is time to have a spare sitting in the shed.

Let me know if you need a quote on tire(s). We have an account with a wholesaler.

Automatic C70? I know of an auto attached to a 850 T5 motor. Are they the same?

Dontcha think it would be the right time to be looking for a 5 speed, of which James says aren't terribly difficult to find down there either?

The only thing you'd need to find is an ECU.

It WOULD be nice to offer to join him for the stripping, though.

Hmmmmm 5 speed, ya possibilities although I know Joan would not be impressed. have to handle this difficult problem carefully (thinking to self)
trany, ECU, shifter, console, pedals, clutch linkage, ...

Yes James, give me more info and if you need a hand let me know.
... we really should chat

5 speed ... NOT going to happen.

The key to a long lasting relationship is knowing what battles to back away from, sometimes quickly, and this is definitely one of those battles.

... so if anyone comes across a very good used AUTOMATIC :vom: at an awesome price please let me know. I want a spare on my parts shelf
