If your going to post don't be laughing!!!!

myself and one of my techs are building a wooden engine that will be bio-degradable.
the block and pistons are wood.(this will be a 2 cylinder)
the crank we'll have to go find a crooked tree limb, reed valve's out of birch.

we bought the piglet which will supply the methane, the grease and the seals..not to mention the ribs.

i need someone who knows how to build a carbon spark plug.
Remember it has to be Enviro friendly.
if anybody wants to lend a hand let me know.
Paul.

And no it's not an April Fool's Joke that came early.

Construction will start in 2 weeks when my block of oak arrives.
stay tuned for pics..and come and pet the piggy..Feb 7th should be the kick off date any info or ideas greatly appreciated.

You will have to fill us in more at the party.

I have a full woodworking shop, so I may be able to lend a hand :D

This fits right in with the wooden-wood burning stove

I'm hoping it's white oak and not red oak. The rings in red oak are porus and won't old compression. White oak (the stuff they make wind barrels out of) has the pores filled and would hold compression. I'd turn a crank rather than finding a bent limb. Lignum vitae bearings, oak block, beach crank, pistons from mahogany (the real stuff not the Luan).

well after the fire quit coming out of my finger tips,i believe an H12 is in order.
building a capacitor is next.Parafin and ?? any ideas....
Alum would be the way to go but it requires 1800 degees in heat to extract or melt.

Hmmm, last time I checked a capacitor required two conductors and a dielectric. Things they make capacitors out of for fun are aluminum foil and oiled paper or glass (this was the first dielectric used). Just buy a roll of tin foil and ask for it in a paper bag - take it home and construct a home brew capacitor. Just don't provide the path of least resistance for the stored charge - it could kill you.

well the block of wood arrived and we changed our plans and we are going with a 1 cylinder build.

i talked to a university prof and he said: i need alot of pig poop to make enough fuel.
so if you come into my shop and smell something funky it's not us..

as for the capacitor i burnt out my other hand..
carbon, iron and copper stuffed in a cardboard continer with toilet paper rolls individually isolated by those products.
get ready for a pic show.

I'm more than a little worried. Morbid fascination I suppose.
