I've been thinking about buying a new(to me) car around june of next year and parking the GT at my cabin until I can find some time and money to drop into her to get her to the point where i want it to be. Not to mention I need a serious break from the car so i dont go crazy!

I've been looking at purchasing a 92-95 E36 Bmw 325i, or possibly a 88-91 e30 325i.

Im wondering what you guys think the value of these cars are, i dont have infinite funds but i would like something a little newer and I've always liked the early 90s bimmers.

I've seen them anywhere from $4,000 to $15,000. I want to get a 4 door manual transmission, and would like to spend from $6,000- $7,000 is this reasonable for these cars??

Also where do you guys source most of your used cars?! i've been looking through:

buysell.com
kijiji.com
autonet.ca
autotrader.ca
craigslist.com

Any ones im missing?

Don't forget to talk to the guys at Luxauto.ca:wink:

1990 535i with 38,000km is on a boat from Japan right now. Our customer will pay about $8500 for it, all in.

We just bought a 1992 M5 with 100k. It can be yours for about $15K. Well, maybe not that one, one of us might keep it.

Tricky part is finding a manual transmission, the Japs love their autotragics. Best bet there in a 3 series is wait for an M3 to come up for auction...

I personally have my eyes peeled for a Merc 2.3-16 in a 5spd.

Most of the bmw's and mercedes on auction are LHD. strangely, most of the volvos are RHD...

E30 for the win, E36 for the loose.

Mercedes 2.3-16 was a 2.5 in the DTM version (one to have, 8000+ rpm redline)

The odd 2.5-16 comes up as well Ras. Not to worry, I won't let one slip through...unless it's an automatic (which all have been so far).

I wonder if the JDM E36 M's have the Euro engine in them? If so that would be a sweet ride to pickup, they were way faster than the USDM ones (also had ITB's!)

USDM M3's are a joke, made 9 more hp than my lame K block and literally 70 lb less torque.

TURBO FOR THE WIN!

oh, and E36s are uncool.
