okay, yes, I finally went to the doctors. Got sick of it being two weeks later and I still can't breathe. He gave me a perscription for a happy drug called Biaxin. Now, apparantly, some types of asthma medications interact with this drug in a not so nice way, but apparantly also the kind I'm on is okay....but then I'm reading up on what I'm taking and look what I find...(and clarithromycin is it's generic name)
Quote:
Allergic reactions can occur with clarithromycin use. People with a history of allergy, asthma, hay fever or hives seem to be more susceptible to these reactions. The reaction can be immediate and severe.
Allergic symptoms include wheezing, hives, itching, swelling, spasms in the throat and breathing tubes, swelling of the face and neck, joint and muscle pain, difficulty breathing, fever and skin rashes. Rashes can range in severity, the most serious cases being toxic epidermal necrolysis and Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Nausea and vomiting are not symptoms of an allergic reaction.
ooh. so, I'll be unable to breathe if i don't get this thing cleared up, and I possibly may run into deep trouble for taking this drug. Jesus freakin christ. (and yes boys, I do get whiny and bitchy when I'm diseased like this....on the bright side, I don't get sick like this very often, it truly is very rare)
So, the funny thing with this is I told the doc I was quite possibly asthmatic, he agreed I was after listening to my lungs...so....um, why are you putting an asthmatic on an antibiotic that may wreak even further breathing type havoc??
if anyone finds decent lungs on the black market, i would much appreciate them. much love!
Oh yes, and no drinkin for the next two weeks. GRRRR!!! on the bright side, I got three weeks before I move in to the new place, so when I throw some big badass housewarming bash, I'll be able to drink like zee fishies!!!!!
