I AM NOT, NO WAY,NOT EVEN CONSIDERING ORGANIZING THIS EVENT

But I think we should start putting down some ideas.
We have talked about heading to Jasper or area, we would need a destination which would offer both cabins and camping facilities.

I would also be open to an agenda that included some awesome drives as usual, but also more "down time" where we could explore the area, go fishing, hiking, etc

Some possible locations:

1) http://www.oldentrance.ab.ca/
2) Willowbrook Bungalow RV Park & Campground
3)

Steph, I think you can offer a lot of input and advice on this

Would this be sort of instead of another PNW event? I take it that won't happen again unless someone out West plans it?

Edit: "The Non-exclusive Alberta based summer Volvo trip with open invitations to any province or state where the owner of a Volvo or any car for that matter want to join us cruise"....I got it!

I like the ideas you've thrown out so far Ian. More "down time" for hiking and stuff would be fun, I'd definitely bring the bike.

How many days though? I'm wondering if it'd be worth pulling the camper for this trip? I don't want to be stuck with 3000lbs behind me obviously, but if I only pulled it there and back it wouldn't be bad.

I couple others can sleep in there too!

Again this is the early planning and ideas stage, but I like to direction everyone is talking about. More of a group gathering rather than a foot to the floor, non stop drive.

Duration of the event is open, although the past ones have been 3-4 days.
As for your trailer ... well I plan on bringing one, if I am able to get it built in time

Don't wait for that to happen. Check out the 2nd half of my post in the Dyno Day vid thread to see my ideas.

If you want to go to Jasper, I can take care of that. In normal time, I should still be around. But I'm still around right now, so I'll go around to check everywhere for cabin/camping. Let me know what kind of hike/bike you want to do. Best time would be mid-end-june or september, when all the roads are open but not crowded.

But I'll organize something simple for those who wants to come. Those who drop at the last moment will deal with their own stuff.

 That is more what I am leaning towards. Planning a trip to a destination and doing something when we get there .... something like ... I don't know .... a vacation ???

I think many of use like the company, getting together, doing some driving, but also doing something where we can relax like fishing, golf ...

Thanks Steph if you could look into a location that would be great

I think this is a great idea, booking off maybe a week to do it in would be really nice, sleeping in, waking up and hanging out, maybe some of us go tearing up some roads - and some go fishing and at night we all sit around the campfire and tell eachohter (with beers and fish in hand) how their day went :)

I'd really think this could be a great trip :)
