I am not to savy on performance upgrades and the like. What is involved in turning my solid disc car to a vented disc system? All four of my rotors are solid. I am not looking for anything to dramatic as i am not likely to race it but i did want something a bit better than whats there.

just swap calipers. that being said, i can't tell you if the hubs or brake lines will require any modification, but someone else will chime in with details.

I'm pretty sure all that is required is the correct calipers and rotors. Everything should bolt up...

You'll only get vented rotors for the fronts.

Yep. I've done this on the YROG, and its pretty simple. 240 rears are pretty much the same between cars, but the fronts will be vented if the car has an air dam (ie. GL, GT on the earlier cars). Like Dale said, all you need is the calipers and rotors...the lines and mounting points are all the same.

group question,

I was talking to Pat and Jim at PYP and a question came up. When retro-fitting a front air dam on the 240, how many people still rode on the solid front discs? How many converted to vented?

I always converted to vented when adding the airdam.

240s had slight difference in rear caliper sizes and restriction valves. If you are breaking the lines open to change the front calipers, I'd grab the rear stuff too to match it, though I've played with some "not stock" re-arranging and combinations of restriction valves and calipers to make the car stop how I wanted it to with the tires, suspension and driver it had.

It is a pretty straight forward low dollar swap. I believe they take the same pads in front regardless. The rear girling pads are slightly different than the more common ATE IIRC.
