I found a better and much cheaper solution to this problem. :) See my posting "Anyone want to buy a set of these to run Ford Rims ?" in the Volvogroup Specific Marketplace forum for more details.

http://www.calgaryvolvoclub.com/forum/v ... highlight=

I recently picked up a nice looking set of Ford alloy rims from PnP and I want to use them on my 940. In order to make them fit a Volvo I need to make the hubcentric ring on the inside of the rim's hubs about 1 mm larger in diameter. The ring only extends a few mm into the wheel bore so I was thinking about making them fit by carefully honing them down a hair with a dremel. Now I'm thinking that may not be wise since I could make the wheels fit slightly off-centre if I take out a little too much on one side and not enough on the other. It's hard to be real precise with a dremel. On the other hand, I wonder how far off you'd need to be before you'd even notice that a rim was mounted a hair off centre. I doubt I could be very far off if I'm careful using the dremel...

As another option I can get them done precisely at a machine shop for about $60 for the set of 4. A lot of that cost will be for the setup, after that the cost to do each rim will be small.

I'm just wondering if any of you have some Ford rims you'd like to make fit your Volvo or would like to buy/acquire some Ford rims and use them on your Volvo ? I figure if I'm taking my set of rims in for machining someone else might want to take advantage of the opportunity to do a set for themselves and save a bit by sharing the setup costs. It won't be a huge savings though, maybe $10 - $15 so not a big deal, really. If you want to drop the rims off with me I could save you a little time and trouble by taking your rims in with mine if and when I decide to do that.

This might be a good opportunity for someone who's in the market for some new rims right now. I would think their selection of rims would widen considerably if they could also look at 5 x 108mm rims made for some of the Ford vehicles. Keep in mind you'll need spacers if you want to use the Ford rims with a RWD Volvo. The Ford rims use the Volvo FWD offset.
