That's a frequent scam that I've seen often on the east coast. Some bullshiter in the US trying to sell in Canada, being unable to meet or selling for somebody else and asking for contact adress. :axe:

i know this is an old post but i almost got scammed yesterday the same way.
guy was going to sell me his V40 for 2200.00 the car was on my lot
he said no leens on the car and i checked it out and he was right.
car was in good shape so i said come on down and pick up your cheque
and he said cash only and my friend will come down and collect the cash and he will have the bill of sale with him.
i said sorry it has to be you and a drivers license for the bill of sale !
WELL if you don't trust me the deal is off.

i had a buddy tell me this is a huge scam they wait till you go on holidays
break into your house steal the keys drive away and sell your car with fake ID.
alot of Banktellers got busted this way because when you withdraw huge
money or buy travellers chq's the question is, oh are you going on holidays?
and you say:ya were gone next week for ten days.Are you taking your kids with you and you say yup it's a family deal.
response,wow 10 days must be nice,good thing you have friends watch the house while your gone.
ya they'll come once a week for the mail.
Well have a nice trip and i'll see you next time.
Never say anything to a bank teller bonded or not.Loser boyfriends everywhere.
