i played in two games like this in high school and both were a blast to watch and participate in, since most stamps players could play ball at the college level or higher

What you failed to mention is if they're playing tiddlywinks or Scrabble... :P

I'd pay to see the tiddlywinks...the scrabble...maybe not so much...

The Red and White take it inside … Where Field and Court Collide!

The Calgary Stampeder Football Club will be strapping on the sneakers to face the SAIT Trojans Men’s Basketball team on Thursday, March 30, 2006. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00pm.

All proceeds of the game will go directly to the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank.

"We are definitely looking forward to this game! Getting the opportunity to play against collegiate athletes will be a challenge and we’re looking to have a lot of fun with it," said Stampeder Receiver, Jeremaine Copeland, "With that said though, I know the guys are looking to win!"

Date: Thursday, March 30th, 2006

Time: 7:00 pm start

Who: Calgary Stampeders vs SAIT Trojans (Basketball Game)

Where: SAIT Campus Center Gymnasium (Campus Centre 1301-16 ave NW)

"The SAIT men's basketball team is looking forward to a challenging game versus the Calgary Stampeders. The Stamps have some very athletic and skilled basketball players that we know of and we have film on them so we should be prepared when the two teams meet next week," reports SAIT Head Coach Craig Anderson, "It will be some fast paced end to end action that will surely involve some great acrobatic shots; we are coming off a tough loss to Mount Royal in the conference final and would cherish the opportunity to compete against some of the best basketball players in Canada."

This game becomes part of the growing tradition that is the off-season basketball program for the Calgary Stampeders. Players who remain in town for the off-season participate in fun, non-competitive basketball games against local school teams around the city. Any one is welcome to attend this inaugural challenge, with the varying prices listed below:

That's BS - I think the Trojans should take it OUTSIDE and play FOOTball with the Stamps. Seems fair.
