Petition to remove $3.00 charge at Transit Park and Rides

I would sign the petition but i have a feeling that you would probably have to be a tax payer to sign so in that light i probably can't but for now i dont have to worry about all that garbage, i get parking at school for $5 dollars a year!!

and the city is just finishing the c-train station near my house so when i start at sait in the fall i'll just have to walk a block and a half to the station and catch the train down to sait (with tuition i get a transit pass) and in the winter if i time it right i can catch the bus that stops 4 houses down from me and be at the station in like 2 minutes so for now my transit situation is covered

but i will sign the petition as soon as i can for the rest of you

For the record i do think this whole $3 to park and then an extra $2.25 to ride the train or what ever the pass is, $75 or $80 or something like that i think its ridiculious!! thats almost $150 a month (depending on how much you use transit) just so you can go to work to earn money to take transit next month! and its ridiculous that the city thinks its doing us a favor by eliminating fees on weekends because most downtown lots will only charge $2 to park for the day anyway so you're still saving time and money by driving downtown, at $2.25 one way.

Pass is now at $83/month. Also, are you SURE they'll have that transit station up and running by the time school starts for ya?

I live in scenic acres where the city is building the c-train station. it was set to open in December but now is delayed to April so at this point it looks pretty close to being finished. so it should be open by September.

and $83 dollars really?!

$83 still seems cheap to me when I consider the amount of fuel you'd burn getting to and from downtown for a month, plus the cost of parking downtown for a month, plus the brain damage of dealing with rush hour traffic both ways. Not to mention what the above is doing to the environment, since nobody carpools (and there's NO government incentive to carpooling...)

True, I have no problem paying the $83 for gas just for that purpose.

Nope, this coming from a guy who drives a fairly new F150 that gets around 10.

The real laugh? There's a sticker on the driver side window that claims it's an LEV - low emission vehichle!
