Hello!

My names Daniel and I've been redirected to the local Calgary Volvo club from Turbobricks.com. Looking forward to getting to know you all. I currently Drive an automatic S70 *not that fun* but am looking to obtain a nice old school RWD turbo'd manual for some fun. Mind you I'm quite the noob when it comes to DIY installations but that is why I'm looking to learn

Cheers.

Hello Daniel and welcome to the Calgary Volvo Club

No disrespect the S70 is a nice car but your desire for a RWD Turbo ... Awesome
Too bad you missed a get together by one day, we had one last night and you could have met a bunch of members.
we should be having an informal meet soon as a member from Lethbridge is planning a trip up to Calgary.
keep watching the forum for details

I was actually invited by Dale on Turbobricks but I couldn't make it yesterday. I had to get together with other students to work on a business report for my Business class haha

Hey, hey... some of us resemble that remark... [-X

Welcome Daniel. Too bad you didn't make it last night. Brad was there with his perfect 244 Turbo...

thank you everybody. yes its the 20V and it zooms. the gas mileage is uhh. Oh I dunno. I get about 650 km a tank with average city driving. A lead foot can penalize me obviously. why do you ask? :D

As far as which car... a 740 Surprisingly preferably then a 244. 242's are just... I dunno I guess I can't get myself into liking them. I also want a 740 because well, it looks the most current next to the 940 but still has some old school style that I like. I'd also suspect my girlfriend and 85% of my friends would actually let me drive them in it haha.

I'm sure you've all seen this bad boy on Turbobricks. It's pretty much inspiration and why I'd want a 740 haha.

That 740 is a beast. Never seen it in the metal but there's plenty of pictures/information about it on Volvo Club UK. I think he's weighing up fitting a T6 now!

650kms and how much to fill up, $80? I've been looking at 20v 855/V70s recently but they are still little out of my price range. They are mostly all autos though!

Welcome to the forum!!

Its not to often you find someone that truly appreciates a 740 sedan! If you're looking for a 740 we need to talk! not that I'm looking to sell mine but i have to say 740>240... (watch all the hatin' start) that car is definitely my inspiration as well.

I have the only set of those rims in Calgary! \:D/

A 740 should be easy enough to find. Automatics are more common but are easy enough to swap with a manual.
