So...on our trip to Edmonton I managed to lose my phone. I'll be phoneless for a few days. I can still call and check messages and will do so on a regular basis so you can still call the number but I won't be answering...

a GSM phone operates at 1900 MHz here in north america and uses a sim card. CDMA based phones operate at 850/1800 MHz and use a IMEI number hardcoded into the phone.

probably not gsm. pretty sure 90% of the phones we get here, especially the less expensive ones, are not gsm.

the thing about them i find is that when i have one, i never use it...it's when i NEED one that i kick myself for not having one at the time.

tis easier and can be cheaper, to have a mobile as your only phone. I did it for 3 years. Only reason I have a land line now is for internet.

its easier if you say this....if you are on rogers you most likely have a gsm phone. If you have bell....non gsm, and unless you have some of the newest telus phones....non gsm.

if it doesn't work automatically when you get a call, it means you either haven't paid for it, or the provider hasn't activated it yet.
