Hi,

I've got a line on one of those dash mounted Smiths Tachs from a 120 series. Goes to 7000 RPM. Looks to be in really good shape. I seem to recall those things were rare/valuable. Is that correct ? What are they typically worth ?

Depends which one it is. If it's an original 123GT tach it can be worth a tidy sum...upwards of $200 on eBay. If it's a Volvo accessory tach, not as much.

This is an original...

Note it's a X100 setup, not a X1000 as is the case with th accessory tach. I believe the redlines are also different. I've got a picture of them side by side somewhere. Note also, the 2nd 123GT we got has a tach with no redline and no "Volvo" markings. The original owner has indicated it has never been changed...

That was an accessory gauge, not an original 123GT gauge. I still have it if you want it back...

Thanks for the info..

The one he's got is an original.

I'll see if I can get it for about $100

Roj

P.S. I have a dash mounted tach on my '69 122S. I should take another look at it to find out which one it is...
