If you can get it centered on the broken bolt it may be just the thing that you need.

After much contemplation and discussion with people wiser than I, it has been decided that the car will not go back together. At this point it owes me nothing and I can recover the cost of whatever parts I have put into it by selling them off again. While it's a nice car, I'm having a tough time justifying dumping a bunch of money into it now, not knowing when the next time will be. The engine has 300,000km on it and these engines are known not to last a lot longer than that. It does burn oil so it's possible the bottom end isn't as solid as it could be. Before it becomes a money pit, I'll step away. It isn't even a case of cutting my losses as I won't have any after selling a few bits and pieces.

So...if anyone wants some 960 parts, speak up. Parts to be sold will include a set of 7/9 series IPD sway bars, including mounting brackets on the rear bars, early B6304 cams, cylinder head, Bilstein replacements (and heavier springs) for the Nivomat IRS setup. The shell will eventually be crushed unless someone wants a nice, rust free 960 sedan with no drivetrain. Care will be taken not to damage any electronics so if someone wants to find another engine for it, it would be a plug and play setup...

... Except that there won't be a differential in it...

That is to say, I'd like the differential please.

Oil pan, bell housing, engine ancillaries - dibs.

Edit - added by Matt: oil pump pickup tube, dipstick, motor mount brackets, flexplate (maybe), all sensors

I should clarify on the sway bars...

They are a set of non-IRS bars. The rear bar has been sitting on the shelf for a while. The front bar is coming off the 960. 25/25mm. Matt has dibs on the IRS bar that's in the car although I can't think of anyone else who might want it on this board...

Seems to me that 960s have a front crossmember reinforcing bracket that will bolt straight onto a 940 (and 740???) Are those on that car?
