Hi: I just stumbled across this bulletin board and it seems like a great resource. I read 122_canuck's engine rebuild thread and learned a whole lot. I was about to put my B18 back together again but i will now stop and re-evaluate.

I am not from Canada.....I live in Austin TX. The closest I have been to Calgary is several trips to Edmonton on business....always a pleasure with real nice folks.

I have owned a 122 and 142 in the past and now own a '69 p1800 and a '61 544. The p1800 needs paint but otherwise in excellent condition. On the other hand, the 544 is a rustzilla that i am slowing rescuing from the scrap dealer. Most all the body work has been done...new floors and rockers all around, new door bottoms (skins and interior), basically everything 4 inches up from the bottom was gone. Lots and lots of welding. I have a B18 to drop in it and am thinking about swapping out the ring and pinion from 4.56 to 3.73 to get the RPMs down to a reasonable number at highway speeds. If anybody has done this with a dana 27, please let me know.

Thanks for letting me join this group.....
Dean

Welcome to CVC!!! We're pretty small (don't be fooled by the member number below) but there's some very talented people here.

Welcome. Glad to hear that the build thread has been useful.
