As you know, I work in a coal mine. We upgraded the mine last year to double the capacity in order to get more stable revenues. When we asked CN before that and they said "ok" to send more trains. We invested the money and went on with the project. Now that it is done, CN doesn't send more train, they even send less trains. They said that they didn't care about us as we're not really an important client. (we still send 3 millions of tons of coal every year...) So my company will lay off about 50 people for good and will probably stop the operations for some times. No point to produce anything if we can't send it to the clients. We currently have 1.2 millions of ton of coal waiting to be sent to West. Make the calculations...

I know that intermodal trains might make more money than coal, but it's not a reason for not keeping its words... So CN sucks and I'm looking for a new job again...

First thing that I think about when people ask me why I hate my job: I hate office work. I prefer to work in the pit, for me it's as enjoyable to work outside with the real thing than to play with my tonkas when I was a little kid. I doubt that there's a mine in the middle of Calgary! :P

There's mines west of Lethbridge....you could probably have a job in one tomorrow if you wanted.
