Hello All,

I noticed the request to chime in - so Hi from the 'Bridge. I have a '66 122 that I'm leaning on at the moment and am glad to know that there are other Volvo nuts in the neighbourhood (so to speak). Current projects on the Canuck are:

- New b20 (with V-Performance head, cam, etc).
- M41 rebuild
- Custom aluminum rad
- Widen crappy 4" wide wheels and fit it with something a little more reasonable.

Definatly not just trying to keep it going - trying to make it go faster :D .

Whoa!!! Someone in the Bridge? Cool! Do you live in the South by any chance?
There's a couple 122's that I know about in my area, so I'm curious....

Sounds like you've got a nice project going on. If you ever need a hand, let me know. I've only owned one b20 powered car in my time, but I know how to hand people wrenches!

Greg

Any Volvo "Nut" in LA is welcome :D
There will be a number of us coming down for the July cruise, look forward to meeting you then

Hi Greg,

South side is my side of the river. If you see a white 122s that's me (my hockey/golf/goofing around car). If I ever get my head back from the states, then I'll be needing a hand for the transplant.

Cool! Yeah, I'd be more than happy to help with that head transplant. Its coming from V-Performance then? Should be nice.

Were you selling another 122 a while back? I called about one here in town some time ago for Dale. Maybe we chatted...your name sounds familiar.

Greg

John Parker is working his flow magic on the head...but quality works takes time 8) . I wasn't selling a 122 - but I know who was - it was the guy that I bought mine from (he's on the southside about 7th Ave and 6th St) and had another white 122 and a yellow P1800. I got this car from him a year or so ago as the timing gear had separated and he already had a couple and didn't need the bother. There's been a lot of work on it since then, and still a bunch to come (putting the M41 together on the weekend)...

I was following the progress on Turbobricks - I saw his photo album here - how'd he get Virgo's on a 122 (I'd love a set)?

Dale managed to score a set of 1800 front hubs, and we installed a 240 rear axle. If you want to perform this operation, I've still got the jig we used, all we'll need is a 122 axle and a 240 axle. AFAIK, the last year of the 122 ('69, is it?) had the 5x108 bolt pattern from the factory, or you could fit an 1800 rear axle for less hassle. The benefit to the 240 axle was choice of gear ratio, and cheap/easy brake parts. And we had one, rather than give some other joker $500 for an 1800 axle.

Hmmm, my rear axle is leaking (seal) - maybe I should put this in the plans after I get the rest of the drivetrain sorted out. Rear disks would be nice - no more tappered drums!

Hmmm...'66 will have different suspension than my '67. Maybe not so easy to do the 240 swap...certainly worth a look though.

Welcome Craig, by the way. I can't run Virgos. They just won't fit over all that Wilwood brake stuff...

That head is going to flow nicely I bet!

Yep, I know which guy you're talking about....I live a few blocks from him. It was him I spoke to about a 122 for Dale. I used to drool at that 1800 on my way to the University! I think he's selling it now....$20,000+?
So he's had quite a few white 122's then!

Virgos will be a nice addition to your car I reckon, as will the M41. Nice work.
Greg

So you have a set of Virgo's you can't use? I figure with a little welding, as long as the track is the same it should work...I'd better get a few other things done first, but will keep this in mind.

There's a few sets of Virgos for sale in our classifieds. I've got a set, Andy has a couple sets, Viktor has a set IIRC...

Nope...I have a 240 too. Can't have too many Virgos, I always said. Actually, I've only got two sets now...I think... One is on the car. The other has my winters...

The track is about 1/2" wider...no big deal...
