So the time has finally come, heading up north here aug 1, so i thought i would start this thread to let ya'll know where i'll be, cause i might not be in touch for months at a time

anyone ever heard of Tommy Lakes? well besides Dale, who knows where everything is :P

basically it's north of Ft. St. John, which is just over 900 km's from Calgary, where i am going is a little more northern than that

Hey Vik
When you're there, head up to Liard River just south of the Yukon boarder, there are some hotsprings there that will blow your mind. Take a weekend and do it

I grew up in Watson Lake, just across the Yukon boarder, and I loved it up there. I still have this unbelievable desire to go back.

If you can handle being away from friends and family (you'll make new ones there hopfully) take the time to enjoy the quiet and the scenery... Though that might not be in a nice area, is it on the alberta plateu? Oh well.... Good luck man, enjoy it and come out of it better than you went in.

I hung a sign in Watson Lake in 1967...wonder if it's still there?

I was at Liard hot springs when they were still clay holes. Are they still that way?

Last time I was at the hotsprings, there wasn't much there, a boardwalk into them, a little "dock thingy" and gravel on the bottom, oh and a dam to build it up a bit. But other than that its still clay around the edges and the bottom.

I bet the sign is still there, You should go find out for yourself ;)
