So after a month here of figuring stuff out and fine tuning the settings, I have decided that my coil is hitting the dirt. I have tried 3 different types of plugs, gapped at various points. I have made sure the wires are seperated and all the boots are covering what is needed, they are not that old anyway. The distributor and rotor look good too. I have also gone back and forth through different advances in timing and I still get sputtering/spark blow-by anytime I want to run over 8psi or in the higher range of the revs (4k+). One check I have not done though is to see how hot the coil is getting after driving, I will check that one tomorrow.
This is a MSD Blaster SS coil that I have, I might check the connections heading to the coil, I think the positive lead might be weakening at the connector. I know the next try is another coil, I will have to make a new bracket though to hold the original style of coil unless someone has an extra Blaster SS or similar.

Thats it for now I guess...I like the warmer weather, makes the car run better, i've got it tuned for 87 right now and it seems happy

Redid all my electrical connections to the coil, seems to have helped. I replaced the rotor and cap, found a couple corroded wires so I cleaned them up. I'm going to bite the bullet and install the new wiring harness next weekend though, best way is to take off the intake I heard. Any tips?

Jah, take off the intake manifold, use the opportunity to service the PCV and throttle body. Once you have all that stuff apart it's pretty obvious how the harness works. The cautious approach is to do one connector at a time, gradually replacing old with new. Not too many ways to go wrong though, unless you're particularly creative.
